We take great pride in our work. We like to take the opportunity to share our specialist knowledge with our existing and future clients. This is really important for us as it allows individuals to see our passion and our professionalism towards joinery.
I have mentioned in the past how it is always best to joint a newel post onto another one using a half lap joint. The picture below shows the half lap joint.
Newel Post – What is a lap joint?
A lap joint is one that is made by halving the thickness of each piece at the joint and fitting them together.
In this case the customer had a scotia mould on their newel post. Therefore, we gradually blended it out so the post looked square and modern.
This style of moulded newel post is very common on the cow estate in Middlewich and the Hermitage estate in Holmes Chapel. This style of properties were built in the late 1990s. There are many decorative features of these homes that provides evidence of when they were built.
Joinery done right demands an in-depth understanding of so many technical elements. Some of this can be taught but so much of it is learned through experience. A lot of our work is done at our Arclid workshop. This means that the time on site is kept to a minimum. This ensures that our clients receive an efficient service. One that ensures minimal disruption to their busy daily routines.
We work throughout Cheshire and serve all areas including Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Sandbach and Congleton. Our service is entirely tailored and we work with our clients to design and create the best options available to them within their budget. Call today on 07887 987427 to discuss your joinery project.
