A bespoke wooden TV cabinet can be a brilliant solution. We were asked to solve a customer’s problem. They had an issue regarding their TV height and keeping the area around the TV tidy. This is a common problem we come across with clients. We had to come up with a solution.

The customer sat on the sofa and we held up the TV on the wall until he said stop when we reached his perfect height. The unit was then built around this. The main objective was not to have cables dragging across the room to the socket, which is on the right wall.

The cables now come from the socket under the unit and to a multi junction box. This is accessible but hidden by a false front (located in the middle section at the bottom). The HDMI cables and plugs run from this to each shelf where the sky box, DVD player and PlayStation connect up.

Always remember you cannot cut a plug off an appliance or the warranty is void so they must be passed through the unit. The unit was made out of 25mm MDF which is thick and strong. In the picture it is unpainted.

The unit was finished just before the rugby World Cup started and the customer was very happy. The above information covers much of the process that happens with each project. Bespoke joinery means coming up with a tailored solution for that particular client. We will always go the extra mile to ensure the best possible result is achieved.
