Bespoke oak shelves are a really incredible option for your home. These units were for a customer in Sandbach. They wanted high quality oak shelves and units either side of his chimney breast with oak tops on. The customer previously had high street units, but they did not give the same effect of solid oak bespoke units. These now offer the wow factor, and our client is very pleased.

Why Bespoke Oak Shelves?

Bespoke Shelving Sandbach

There are two elements to this question. Oak shelves are timeless. They have instant appeal and fit seamlessly into many settings. The other side of this is the bespoke element. What does bespoke mean? Bespoke means an item made for a particular customer or user. This is tailor-made furniture, specifically measured, made and fit for our clients.

A further advantage is that the storage configuration can be entirely dictated by a client’s individual needs. From the outside the cupboards may look standard, however, inside the shelving and storage solutions can be completely tailored.

We only use the highest-quality materials for each of our products. There are cheaper ways to achieve another solution. However, if lower-quality materials are used there are a few issues that may arise. Lower-quality wood can warp over time. You can also experience splitting.

How to check the quality of wood

It is important to identify whether your material is actually solid wood. You can do this by looking at the colour and observing the wood grain. A solid wood will be heavier and harder than a laminated alternative. A quick check is to look at the end-grain of your piece of wood. The wood grain should naturally wrap around the sides and end-grain of the wood. What is a veneered wood alternative? This is where a very thin layer of real wood is peeled from a tree and attached to a substrate. These will not offer as good quality. Solid wood alternatives will offer you a far superior and longer-lasting solution.
