Are you looking for help with creating bespoke wooden planters? We often talk about bespoke joinery projects. What does this mean? It means that the designs we come up with are completely tailored to your individual needs. This may include:
- Shape
- Type of material
- Intended use
- Design elements
We will go through the process of discussing our clients needs first. This then gives us information on which we can offer advice. Some have real ideas of what they do like (and what they don’t). Others may be guided by budget restraints (or expected outlay). Either way, our clients are confident that the results they receive are of the highest quality.
Bespoke Wooden Planters – How to Avoid Rot
We also look at giving advice based on how our clients can keep their wooden planters looking great and lasting as long as possible. There are different things that you can do to help elongate the lifespan of your wood planters. This includes:
You can put plastic container inside to keep the moisture from touching the wood. This does depend on the shape and size. Another challenge is finding a plastic infill that is the same size as your planter. Another way round this would be to add a plastic liner, which gives you a more flexible alternative.
There are many products that can be used such as a wood preservative, liquid sealants and also waterproof paint. Your chosen option may depend on the look that you wish to achieve. Remember that there are a range of more opaque paints if you wish to add colour but want a more natural look.
Some also advise using planter stands so that the wooden planter is not standing on the floor. A lot of moisture is drawn up from the ground. And therefore, if the planters are raised then they are less likely to rot due to sitting on moisture. An important thing to remember is to be conscious about the weight that you are placing in your planter.
